A failed pianist and single parent to cat Soopie, Halifax is currently completing a master's in Visual and Multimodal Anthropology at UiT in Tromsø, Norway. Their forthcoming thesis curates and analyzes uncanny multispecies histories in a small Arctic fishing town.

Halifax hopes to pursue a PhD to study Arctic cruising in the age of imminent ice melt from a queer-oceanics perspective. When not blasting French disco pop, botching vegan recipes, or oversleeping, they can be found plotting an unprofitable future in drag as Shirley Not.
